We are searching for a ServiceNow Software Engineering leader who is enthusiastic about merging data with new technologies.

As a Director of Software Engineering for ServiceNow, you will be at the forefront of major changes within the ServiceNow Platform. You'll be a part of the Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division, which focuses on developing and enhancing a robust cloud infrastructure layer, emphasizing observability, connectivity, resilience, and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a varied portfolio of technology projects and manage a team of developers specializing in the ServiceNow Platform and Workflow for modules like IT Asset Management (ITAM), IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Risk Management (ITRM), and IT Operations Management (ITOM) to develop solutions that fulfill the company's asset management requirements
  • Oversee, manage, and expand multiple teams of product-focused software engineers
  • Provide mentorship and guidance for the professional and technical growth of team engineers
  • Collaborate with product managers to grasp the desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
  • Enhance software engineering practices continuously
  • Collaborate within Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions with full-stack development tools and technologies
  • Lead efforts on the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions
  • Stay informed on tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, engage in both internal and external tech communities, and mentor fellow engineers
  • Foster innovation, embrace cutting-edge technologies, promote inclusion, encourage creative thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
  • Collaborate across teams to boost velocity

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 7 years in software development
  • At least 5 years’ experience with ServiceNow Platform implementations, development, and operations
  • A minimum of 5 years in people management

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • 8+ years’ expertise in ServiceNow Platform, Infrastructure, and Workflows development for various ServiceNow modules (ITAM, ITSM, ITRM, and ITOM)
  • 6+ years’ experience in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js
  • 4+ years with cloud services like AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.
  • 6+ years’ experience in open-source frameworks
  • 2+ years in Agile methodologies

The full-time annual salaries for this position are established with alignment to specific hiring locations, and reflect what Capital One is prepared to offer at this time. For part-time roles, salaries will be adjusted according to the agreed-upon regular work hours.

This role is eligible for performance-based incentives which could include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTIs). These incentives can be discretionary or non-discretionary based on the plan.
