Join our dynamic team dedicated to building and enhancing the enterprise open systems platform for the Social Security Administration (SSA), which impacts the lives of millions of Americans each month. As a Lead ServiceNow Developer, you will leverage your extensive expertise to lead and mentor fellow developers and administrators, while crafting solutions across the comprehensive ServiceNow suite, including IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), and IT Asset Management.
- ** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.
- Implement innovative features and tools within ServiceNow to meet critical system requirements.
- Translate business and technical requirements into actionable reference designs and development roadmaps.
- Evaluate technical architectures and designs to ensure they meet business needs.
- Maintain and enhance the ServiceNow platform in line with strategic goals.
- Lead the management of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring proper data handling and infrastructure management.
- Assess and guide corrective actions on configurations that do not align with ServiceNow best practices.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and deploy new ServiceNow capabilities, ensuring user adoption and ongoing support.
- Review project demands to ascertain alignment with ServiceNow products and identify complex features that require additional analysis.
- Follow ServiceNow code quality standards and processes.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives, translating them into ServiceNow solutions.
- Your role may include:
- Working with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Utilizing scripting languages and modern UI frameworks such as Angular or React.
- Engaging in full-stack development and automation solutions.
- Implementing DevOps practices.
- Integrating REST APIs.
- Practicing Agile methodologies (e.g., SAFE, Scrum).
- Employing automated testing tools like ServiceNow ATF.
- Conducting business analysis and design.
- Administering server/infrastructure.
- Managing Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance.

- Engage in all technical discussions and meetings, providing input to enhance code quality and processes.
- Support junior and mid-level developers by providing guidance and resources.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)
BS Degree and 12 years of experience. Additional experience may compensate for education.
- Proven track record in implementing ServiceNow products and applications.
- Experience with ServiceNow scripting and platform administration.
- Familiarity with various ServiceNow platform features.
- Proven expertise in solutions involving ServiceNow modules like BIA, SAM, and CM.
- Experience in Agile workflows (e.g., SAFE, Scrum).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance as required by contract.
FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)
These skills will enhance your chances of success:
- 7+ years of developing ServiceNow applications and core modules.
- 5+ years of experience in creating, testing, and supporting custom applications on ServiceNow.
- 3 or more ServiceNow certifications, including ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD).
- Experience with third-party API integrations (REST/SOAP/JSON).
- Agile work experience (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)
Stand out with knowledge of modern practices through the following experience:
- Experience with ins.pi products (YouDesign, UPMX, Designer, or FREELUCY).
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or Pro Suite certifications.
- Experience in AJAX and XML.
- Work experience in a PaaS/SaaS environment.
- Subject Matter Expertise across ServiceNow lifecycle stages.
- Ability to provide technical consultations with clarity on options and risks.
- Strong organizational skills in project management.
- Prior experience with Federal government projects.
- Self-motivated and adaptable individual willing to take initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

ITSSCII Pay Range:
$126,100.00 - $227,950.00
The pay range provided is a guideline and is subject to change based on various factors including responsibilities, experience, education, and market data.
