ServiceNow Senior Developer / Functional Consultant / Business Analyst Hartford, CT – Onsite
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and versatile ServiceNow Senior Developer / Functional Consultant / Business Analyst with 10+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow ITSM and ITAM modules. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, development, configuration, and optimization of ServiceNow solutions to support enterprise-wide digital transformation. The candidate should be well-versed in both technical and functional aspects of ServiceNow and capable of gathering business requirements, translating them into technical solutions, and delivering end-to-end implementations.
Key Responsibilities: Functional Consulting & Business Analysis:
- Engage with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Conduct workshops and stakeholder interviews to understand business processes.
- Design and recommend ServiceNow solutions based on ITIL v4 best practices.
- Prepare user stories, process flow diagrams, and functional specifications.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams throughout the SDLC.
- Conduct UAT sessions and manage user feedback to improve platform usability.
Development & Configuration:
- Design and develop ServiceNow modules, especially ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request) and ITAM (Hardware, Software, SAM, HAM).
- Customize ServiceNow applications using JavaScript, Flow Designer, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and UI Actions.
- Integrate ServiceNow with third-party tools using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server, etc.
- Create and maintain CMDB integrations and data normalization processes.
- Perform system and application upgrades, including impact analysis and testing.
Leadership & Governance:
- Mentor junior developers and analysts.
- Establish and maintain configuration and development standards.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture and IT operations teams to ensure scalability and compliance.
- Define KPIs and build dashboards using Performance Analytics and Reporting modules.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of overall experience in IT, with 7+ years in ServiceNow platforms.
- Proven experience with ITSM and ITAM implementations.
- Strong understanding of CMDB, Discovery, and asset lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages: JavaScript, Glide API, and AngularJS.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow best practices and platform governance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified ServiceNow System Administrator.
- Certified Implementation Specialist (ITSM, ITAM).
- ITIL v4 Foundation certified.
- Experience with SAM Pro, Hardware Asset Management, and Software Discovery.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
